Abstract
Creativity is an attitude that combines a set of mental processes such as playfulness, curiosity, extreme sensitivity, self-awareness and independence. Creativity has many positive consequences and has the potential to improve social problem solving in students and reduce their academic procrastination. Teaching creative thinking and facilitating creativity in schools leads to solving the problem of procrastination and increases the capacity to solve social problems. Due to the social and collaborative nature of the definitions of creativity in recent years, its role in solving social problems is becoming more prominent. Solving a social problem requires a kind of skill to find appropriate ways and solutions which has a great impact on creativity and creative thinking in this area. In addition to problem-solving behaviors, people in the social and especially academic spheres also show a kind of avoidance of facing many academic problems and postpone doing tasks to the point of worrying and suffering. Such behaviors are labeled as procrastination. In students in whom problem-solving styles have not developed well, sufficient attention should be paid to children's creative thinking in order to strengthen and improve adaptive problem-solving styles and reduce maladaptive problem-solving styles.
